49-member panel formed to draft CA regulations

Kathmandu, Feb 12: The meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) held on Wednesday formed a 49-member panel to draft CA Regulation-2014 and Legislative-Parliament Business Advisory Regulation-2014.
The CA meet held today unanimously endorsed the proposal which was submitted by lawmaker Chinkaji Shreshta.

The Committee formed by the CA meeting today comprises CA members Ahatar Kamal Musalman, Ambika Basnet, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Onsari Gharti, Eknath Dhakal, Karna Bahadur Thapa, Kumar Khadka, Kunti Kumar Shahi, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Gopal Dahit, Chandeswar Jha, Jayadev Joshi, Jayanti Devi Rai, Jeevan Pariyar, Jitendra Narayan Dev, Dimple Kumari Jha, Dhamendra Kumar Shah Teli, Narahari Acharya and Narendra Shah Kalawar

Likewise, Prabhu Shah, Prem Bahadur Singh, Prem Suwal, Biswendra Paswan, Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Bhim Bahadur Rawal, Bhisma Raj Angdambe, Madan Kumar Shah and Mahesh Acharya are other members of the Committee.

The Committee also includes Meena Pun, Megh Raj Nepali (Nishad), Ramesh Lekhak, Radha Devi Timalsena, Ram Kumar Rai, Ram Krishna Yadav, Ram Narayan Bidari, Rukmini Chaudhary, Rewati Raman Rajbhandari, Laxman Rajbansi, Laxman Lal Karna, Lal Babu Raut, Lokmani Dhakal, Bikram Bahadur Thapa, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Shiva Kumari Gotame Sarki (Nagarkoti), Shiva Chandra Chaudhary, Shiva Lal Thapa, Sarita Kumari Yadav, Sunil Bahadur Thapa and Haricharan Shah.

The term of the Committee is for 10 days from the day of the beginning of the work.The Committee shall draft the CA Regulations 2070 and CA (Legislature-Parliament) Regulations 2070.
The Regulations shall cover issues relating to the functioning of the CA as per the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007, formation of Committees, and also the doubling of the CA as a Legislature-parliament among others.

The committee will form other necessary sub committees to carry out jobs related to constitution drafting, management of CA meetings and drafting regulations and policies required to perform other works in line with Article 78 of the Interim Constitution-2007.

Likewise, the committee will also draft procedures for the Legislature-Parliament to execute day-to-day businesses as per Article 83 of the Interim Constitution.

he next CA meeting will take place on February 16.
