The District Court in Rupandehi on Tuesday remanded a man arrested on the charge of raping his daughter, in police custody. Ram Shankar (name changed) of Siddharthanagar-7 was arrested after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with police saying that Ram Shankar raped their 12-year-old daughter some days ago. Police said that Ram Shankar confessed to his crime.
रुपन्देही जिल्लामा एक व्यक्तिले आफ्नै १२ वर्षीया छोरीलाई पटक पटक बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय रुपन्देहीका अनुसार पुष १३ गते रातीदेखि १८ गतेसम्म पटक पटक आफनै छोरीलाई बलात्कार गरेको उजुरीपछि प्रहरीले सिद्धार्थनगर ७ बाट ती व्यक्तिलाई पक्राउ गरेको हो । बालिकाको बाबुको नाम सार्वजनिक गर्दा बालिकालाई असर गर्ने भन्दै प्रहरीले ती व्यक्तिको नाम सार्वजनिक गरेको छैन ।

15-year-old held on rape charge
SALYAN: A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on rape charge from Kalimati Rampur in the district. The accused allegedly raped an eight-year-old local girl few days ago. The victim’s family lodged a complaint with police claiming that the boy took the girl to a nearby forest and committed the crime. The accused, however, refused any wrongdoing. The victim was taken to the district hospital for a medical test. Deputy Superintendent of Police Lalmani Acharya said the accused will be handed over to his family as there is no any legal provision to take the accused under the age of 18 into custody.
