Dissenting RPP-N leaders say they will not split party
Organising a news conference in the Capital on Thursday, the dissenting leaders said that they would struggle in the party without bringing a split in it.
On the occasion, Vice-Chairman of the party, Tanka Dhakal, said that they held internal discussions and decided to move ahead without splitting the party as per the request of different national and foreign well- wishers, even though they planned to establish a new party.
Dhakal said that they would make the RPP-N as the foremost nationalist force in the days ahead by taking the party ahead in a systematic way after self-criticizing weaknesses of all.
Dhakal, also the founder of the party, and leader Prahlad Saha on December 29 had filed petition at the Election Commission putting forth demands not to provide authority to the close list submitted by the party to EC and for the registration of a new party 'Nepali Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal', saying party's 60 per cent central members are in their favour.
The RPP-N has been allocated 24 seats under the PR category in the Constituent Assembly election.
