KATHMANDU, DEC 29 - Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), state-owned oil monopoly, has decided not to raise the price of petroleum products anytime soon.
Officiating Executive Director at NOC, Jaya Raj Acharya assured that the price of fuel would not be hiked following a meeting with 11 student unions on Sunday.
"The officiating Executive Director and high-level administration of NOC have expressed commitment to explore other means to minimise the loss of NOC," said spokesperson of Nepali Congress (NC) aligned Nepal Students Union, UP Lamichhane, after the meeting, "The price of LPG and fuel will not be raised now."
The student's union has also urged the NOC management to ease the supply by removing artificial shortages.
iBlack marketing for petroleum products has begun after the NOC made statement indicating the possibility of raising the price owing to the loss it has been incurring.
