SARLAHI: Telling off her spend-thrift son, who was used to returning home late night, has cost a 48-year-old woman her life in Hajariya VDC of the district.
Kaushila Devi Mahato died on the spot when her son Ram Kailash (29), annoyed after the rebuke, struck her with firewood on Friday night, according to District Police Office.
Ram Kailash had returned home from the local bazaar last night when his mother welcomed with the lecture to stay home at night during winter and curb his habit of wasting money.
After the incident, Ram Kailash had fled the scene. However, police detained him from Manpur of the district.
The victim was separated with her husband and was staying with her only son.
Police said they are looking into the incident.
