Major parties' meet underway‚ 'breakthrough' likely today

KATHMANDU: Leaders of major political parties have begun talks and deliberations since early this morning in order to seek a way out to the current political uncertainty regarding the formation of the new government and the sitting of the new constituent assembly.
Senior leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist are presently holding talks at the Peace Fund Secretariat in Babarmahal in order to remove problems and differences in the formation of the new CA.
It has been learnt that the discussions are centered around the UCPN-Maoist’s demand about formation of a high-level commission to probe the alleged election rigging, continuity of the high-level political committee, formation of truth and reconciliation commission and incorporating political forces outside CA.
The parties are expected to hammer out a solution today and reach to a conclusion in addressing those demands for the first sitting of the CA.
