ब्रिद्द आमा र अपाङ्ग छोराहरुको मुटु छुने सत्यता :: Elderly mum is only help for disabled sons

JAJARKOT, JAN 04 -

Seventy-year-old Lila Malla of Ghetma-7, Rukum, was found at the Jajarkot District Hospital recently. Malla, however, was not there for her own treatment; she had reached the hospital seeking treatment for her two sons, Hari Jung, 38, and Bharat Jung, 33 who had been complaining of chest aches, throat and respiratory problems.

At an age where her sons should have been caring for her, she had to look after her sons as they were both born without sight. She has been shouldering the responsibility of her sons after the death of her husband Bal Bahadur a decade ago. Malla said that it took her two days to take her visually-impaired sons to the hospital.

She said they had not taken any initiative to seek treatment for her sons eyesight as everyone around told them that there was no treatment for those born without sight. “It was not a problem raising them but now it has been a challenge as I am too old to look after them,” she said, adding that their land too is left barren.

Though doctors at the hospital checked her sons, she is not satisfied and complains that health workers at the hospital neglected them.

She said her visually-impaired sons have not received any kind of help from any individual or organisation.
