The celebrity magazine Closer which claims French President Francois Hollande has been having an affair with an actress has promised to remove the story from its website.
It follows a request from the lawyer of Julie Gayet, the actress in question.
In Paris, many seem non plussed.
‘‘I think he is like any other person. He has a right to privacy like anybody else. We also don’t know if it’s simply a rumour or if it’s the truth. I’m really not bothered,’‘ said one woman.
Another man said: ‘‘There are more important things to talk about right now than his private life, his mistresses. It’s a bit of a shame were not talking about real issues. This really doesn’t grab my attention at all.’‘
Hollande threatened legal action against the magazine after it published a special edition detailing his alleged liason, which he has not denied. The French leader says he deplores the attack on his privacy.

विभिन्न चलचित्रमा पुरै नग्न र यौनिक क्रियाकलापमा संलग्न भएका छाडा रोमान्टिक दृष्यसमेत दिएकी र कुनै बेलाकी चर्चिच मोडल जुली गाएट अहिले आएर राष्ट्रपति ओलाण्डसँग जोडिएपछि पुनः चर्चामा छिन् ।
उनका पुराना तस्विर हेर्ने हो भने ४१ वर्षीय जुलीले कैयौं चलचित्रमा अश्लिल सिन मात्र दिएकी छैनन् कैयौं पटक शरीरको माथिल्लो भाग निर्वस्त्र राखेर टपलेस फोटो सुट समेत गरेकी छिन् । गाएट पहिलो पटक सन् २००४ मा चलचित्र क्लारा एट मोइमा पटक पटक रोमान्टिक दृष्यमा देखिएकी छिन् जहाँ उनी निवस्त्र समेत देखिन्छिन् ।
त्यसैगरी सन् २०१० मा सान्स लाइसेर डे ट्रेसेज भन्ने अर्को चलचित्रमा त्यस्तै सिनमा देखा परिन् । १९९८ को फोटो सुटमा उनी टपलेस देखिन्छिन् । फ्रान्सेली पत्रिका क्लोजरको शुक्रबारे संस्करणमा छापिएको फ्रान्स्वाँ ओलाण्ड र जुली गाएट– राष्ट्रपतिको गोप्य प्रेम भन्ने शीर्षकको हेडलाइन बनाएपछि गाएट र ओलाण्डको सम्बन्धबारे विभिन्न कोणमा चर्चा भैरहेको छ ।
साप्ताहिक पत्रिकाले आफ्नो बारेमा लेखेको समाचारले राष्ट्रपति ओलाण्डलाई भने क्रुद्ध तुल्याएको छ । उनले निजत्वमाथिको आक्रमण गरेको भन्दै पत्रिका विरुद्ध कानूनी प्रक्रिया अघि बढाउने चेतावनी समेत दिएका छन् ।
क्लोजरले पनि गाएटको अनुरोधमा इन्टरनेटबाट सो समाचार हटाउने प्रतिबद्धता जनाइसकेको छ । क्लोजरले प्रकाशित गरेको रिपोर्टमा ५९ वर्षीय राष्ट्रपति ओलाण्ड राति राति सुटुक्क स्कुटरमा चडेर ४१ वर्षीय अभिनेत्रीलाई भेट्न जाने गरेको उल्लेख छ ।
नयाँ वर्षको समयमा पनि ओलाण्ड हेलमेट लगाएर सुटुक्क गाएटको अपार्टमेण्टमा पुगेको क्लोजरको दावी छ । आफ्ना ४ सन्तानसहितकी पत्नी सेगेलेन रोयलसँग परपाचुके गरिसकेका ओलाण्ड अहिले पत्रकार समेत रहेकी पूर्वप्रेमिका भ्यालरी ट्रिएरविलरसँग बस्छन् ।
सन् २०१२ को निर्वाचनमा ओलाण्डको चुनावी विज्ञापनमा अभियन गरेकी जुली गाएटले आफूलाई राष्ट्रपतिसँग जोडेर निजत्वमाथि आक्रमण भएको भन्दै गत मार्चमा पनि उजुरी हालेकी थिइन् ।
French President Francois Hollande is officially having his Bill Clinton moment. The weekly tabloid ‘Closer’ ran several photos of Francois allegedly spending the night with actress Julie Gayet — allegations that Francois has not denied.
Francois Hollande, 59, is threatening to sue the tabloid Closer for running seven pages of photos taken outside of Julie Gayet‘s apartment that supposedly prove that Francois — France’s president — and the 41-year-old actress are having an affair.

Yikes! While an affair has not been officially confirmed, Julie and Francois have definitely had interactions in the past — BBC News reports that the actress appeared in a promotional video for Francois’ presidential election campaign in 2012, in which she called him marvelous, humble, and “somebody who really listens.” However, Julie is married to Argentinian film director and script writer Santiago Amigorena and Francois has a long-time partner named Valerie Trierweiler, so their rumored relationship is controversial, to say the least.
Francois is now considering suing the publication, calling its report an “attack on the right to privacy.” However, he did not deny Closer‘s allegations, even though they said they would remove the feature from their website.
“Julie Gayet’s lawyer contacted us to request we remove from the website all mention of this relationship,” said Laurence Pieau, editor of Closer. Laurence also mentioned that Closer has not been in contact with the presidential palace.

Rumors of Francois and Julie’s affair had been circling around for months before Closer published their damning seven-page story, which purportedly proves that Francois regularly crashes at Julie’s apartment. There are several photos of the pair arriving separately, and the mag even claims that the president’s bodyguard arrived the following morning with croissants.
